Photomontage #2: Awareness Poster Final

Here is my photomontage awareness poster for Anti Breed Specific Legislation.

For this project, I used a single image of my Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Boxer mix (aka "pit bull" mix) against a pale gray background. I wanted certain words to stand out, so I chose to use red. I obtained a "No BSL" logo from the internet and incorporated that into the poster. I used selective text coloring on the description.

Photomontage #2: Awareness

Our latest assignment is to design an awareness poster for a campaign.

I've chosen pro pit bull awareness, both anti breed specific legislation and anti dogfighting. I have some (horrible) sketches done and it will just come down to which direction looks better when I get into the actual design.

Photomontage #1: Allie Mann

This project was quite a bit of fun. I combined seven images I have taken over the years into one. I used numerous tools, cropping, moving, adjustment mask, liquify, clone, eraser just to name a few. I included two images to create a textured effect by reducing the opacity of the layers.

There are a total of 16 layers including text, an exposure adjustment layer,  and cloning layers.

Each image was created as a layer and rasterized.
The font used was Mathilde, obtained via dafont.com.

There are seven unique images:

An image of a bubble, cut from the background
An image of a friend from a portrait session in January
An image of the butterfly on a pill box
An image of a scratched aluminum pan to create the scratched textures
An image of a glass candle holder to create the patterned texture.
An image of trees/sky to create the reflection in the bubble
An image of a propped setup I had used for a holiday photo session to create the twinkle lights.

So, without further ado, here is my final image

Photomontage #1: Preliminary Sketches

These are the sketches for my upcoming photomontage. I've created the fictional singer Allie Mann for my project. I envision her to be  folksy pop singer.  I have a few different ideas. The primary idea I have is for there to be some type of image of Allie Mann, be it a face, just eyes, her in different situations. Her name will feature prominently in the montage.

As you can see, I'm not the best artist with a pencil, but I think they're on target enough to understand :O
